About the team and what we do
The nursing and procurement team manage the organisation’s commercial activities and third party spending. The primary goal is ensure value for money while supporting the NMC’s regulatory mission to protect the public.

Your role and impact
As Procurement Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving both the operational excellence and strategic direction of the Procurement function. Sitting at the heart of the team, you’ll ensure seamless end‑to‑end purchase‑to‑pay delivery, from supplier onboarding through to invoice processing, while maintaining robust compliance and governance at every stage.

You’ll take ownership of key spend categories, partnering with senior stakeholders to shape and deliver effective category strategies. From building sourcing plans to leading compliant tender processes, you’ll ensure commercially sound outcomes that deliver value and mitigate risk.

A key part of your impact will be as a subject matter expert across procurement systems and tools. You’ll champion effective system use, enhance data quality, and identify opportunities for improvement—enabling better decision-making through insightful reporting and dashboards.

You’ll also act as a central point of contact for procurement queries, providing clear, timely guidance to colleagues and suppliers, and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement through training and process enhancements. Across all areas, you’ll balance operational delivery with strategic thinking to drive high-quality procurement outcomes.

What you’ll bring
You bring strong experience in procurement or finance environments, with a solid understanding of end‑to‑end procurement processes, including purchase‑to‑pay activities, supplier onboarding, and tendering in line with policy and legislation.

You’re confident working with procurement systems and data, ensuring accuracy, governance, and audit readiness. Your analytical skills allow you to translate data into meaningful insights, producing clear reports and dashboards that support both operational and strategic decisions.

With experience managing or supporting procurement projects—such as tenders, category management, or service improvements—you’re comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels, building effective relationships and influencing outcomes.

You’re a proactive problem solver who communicates with clarity and impact, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is committed to continuous improvement. Whether delivering training, enhancing processes, or supporting colleagues, you bring adaptability, attention to detail, and a focus on delivering results.
