What We Are Looking For

Kinder Morgan is seeking a Regulatory Compliance Engineering Technician in Midland, Texas. Hybrid Schedule Offered

 

This position is responsible for providing regulatory compliance and technical support to engineering, geoscience and operations personnel. The Regulatory Compliance Engineering Technician will insure compliance with both internal and external processes. This position will also liaison with external agencies as required (TRRC, TCEQ, etc.) to clarify and/or address reporting/compliance requirements.


What You Will Do

Duties:

  • Responsible for loading/entering, verifying, manipulating, analyzing, and reporting data related to regulatory compliance.
  • Assists in maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • Research proposed RRC rules changes and analyze for effect to operations. Verify supervisors are informed of proposed rules changes.
  • Provide support to operations concerning current RRC rules. Verify RRC enforcement process.
  • Performs variety of tasks in support of regulatory compliance related to oil and gas production facilities.
  • Performs user support for software systems to other regulatory compliance tracking and verification.
  • May provide operational related troubleshooting, leadership, and support related to regulatory compliance.
  • Verify wellbore diagram accuracy in Wellview prior to submitting completion reports to the RRC.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Need

Educational Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

 

Experience / Specific Knowledge:

  • Prior experience in the oil and gas industry and/or equivalent industry.
  • Understands basic oilfield terminology and operations.
  • Prior regulatory/compliance experience.

 

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

 

Competencies, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Good computer skills and proficient with applicable computer applications.
  • Under general supervision, performs calculations and preliminary analysis for interpretation of data.
  • Loads and verifies data and generates reports based on standard procedures.
  • Works under direct supervision, but displays initiative and moves toward requiring less supervision
  • Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisor(s) and lead personnel, focus attention on details, follow work rules, and adhere to established work schedules.

 

Physical Demands:

  • Travel to field sites as needed.
  • May be a safety sensitive position.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Mixture of office and site (outside) work locations.
  • Working after hours, nights, weekends, holidays and on-call as needed.

 

Preferred Education, Experience, Certifications, Competencies, Skills, and Abilities:

  • College degree or technical school certificate
  • 5+ years oil/gas experience in one or more fields: operations, well work, regulatory compliance, engineering, geosciences.
