Job Description
Position Summary:
The Field & Services Engineer is a technical resource. A key focus in this role will be commissioning and auditing installation works in a timely manner so that they meet the desired standards of finish quality prior to the handover to the client. The role also includes contribution to technical review of proposals to ensure functionality objectives can be met as well as technical support and response to escalation from the service team.
Undertaking commissioning of all installed systems including but not limited to:
Audio functions (microphones, switchers, audio conferencing, DSP etc)
Video functions (switchers, routers, video conferencing etc)
Control systems (AMX/Crestron, Extron, LAN, RS-232 etc)
Providing succinct and accurate communication to all stakeholders within a project. i.e., status updates, defects, issues and resolutions, forecast timelines
Commissioning duties are defined to include:
Pre-configuration of devices prior to deployment to site.
Remote commissioning for APAC projects
Preparation of documentation and consideration of commissioning practices and philosophies for each project
Configuration and alignment of all devices to industry best practice and company standards
Testing of complete systems / sub-assemblies / sub systems as a functional unit
Field Service Support:
Demonstrate commitment to our customers by solving complex and technically challenging faults
Provision of high-quality customer technical support on customer audio visual systems, with priority to those with SLA’s
Provide onsite service maintenance and fault finding including third party repairs where necessary
Document all service work performed, including client-initiated callouts and preventative service inspections
Provide Service Desk agents with technical support to help report on and close out incidents
Remote commissioning for APAC projects
Review of presales and post sales engineering to ensure buildability and achievement of required functional outcomes.
Serving as a point of escalation for the service team, including attendance at site when required.
Quality assurance requirements, such as cleaning, checking, labelling and defects reporting.
Systems must be commissioned so they are in a fully functioning manner and clean prior to client acceptance of the system.
Requires thorough inspection and accountability on outstanding items for system completion (needs to help “make it happen” after installation)
Check and mark up schematics and manuals for approval by Project Managers, prior to submission to the Helpdesk.
Provide written reports post-commissioning to the Project Manager for project archive.
Liaise with Project Managers, Site Supervisors and other staff as required.
Perform secondary tasks for other positions / departments to assist in workflow and scheduling of the company’s work, including:
Project administrative duties, directed by the Operations and Project Managers
Provide technical assistance to other staff and departments as required.
Keep up to date and informed regarding updates to product, market trends, best practice and relevant knowledge.
Foster and promote the company, product and brand in the market.
Promote and work with Standard Operating Procedures to ensure uniform quality standards in all areas of the business.
Uploading of programming code
Building AV Racks
Providing Training to clients when required
Other duties as required.

Skills & Experience Requirements
Knowledge of audio-visual systems and video conferencing
Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills and client interfacing skills.
Outstanding computer skills (with good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite)
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Practical experience in systems installation methods, servicing or other relevant experience,
Relevant qualifications and certifications preferred.
Time management skills, including the ability to prioritise, delegate and escalate where required.
Active participation in professional development in the technology fields, including relevant technology news, journals, associations and focus groups as required to maintain a deep knowledge of the systems we install and support.
Requirement to travel and work flexibility due to deadlines
