Let’s Talk about the Role

As the Product Owner for Protection & Control, you are the primary link between our market, our stakeholders, and our engineering teams. You are responsible for maximizing the value of our distribution and industrial network products by translating complex market needs into clear, actionable requirements. You drive the product roadmap, support continuous improvement, and ensure our solutions align with the broader strategy to power the world more reliably.

• Defining a clear product vision that aligns customer value with technical feasibility and business objectives.

• Translating complex market needs into detailed, actionable requirements for our research and development teams.

• Owning the product backlog to ensure the most impactful initiatives are prioritized and delivered.

• Collaborating across engineering, quality, and commercial teams to support effective product delivery and market success.

• Monitoring product performance through key metrics and feedback to drive iterative enhancements.

Core Qualifications

• Your background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical field.

• You bring substantive experience in product management, systems, or application engineering within power systems, protection and control, or substation automation.

• You possess a deep working knowledge of protection and control relays and digital substation technologies.

• You communicate with impact in English, successfully negotiating and presenting technical visions to diverse internal and external audiences.

• You thrive in dynamic environments by managing multiple priorities effectively, both independently and through quarterly international collaboration.

Desired Expertise

• You are comfortable navigating Agile methodologies and modern product development lifecycles.

• You have familiarity with GE Vernova Grid Automation products or equivalent competitive solutions, particularly for Distribution and Industrial sectors.

• You possess a track record of developing or managing applications for the protection and control market.

• You demonstrate knowledge of industry standards such as IEC 61850, IEC 61508, DNP3, Modbus, and essential cybersecurity protocols.

• You are confident utilizing mathematical modeling software to inform your decision-making.

• You have experience contributing to the industry through technical papers, journal articles, or conference presentations.

Where and how you'll work

This is a permanent position based in our Bilbao, Stafford, or Dubai office. We have a hybrid working model which gives you the flexibility to work from our offices and from home.
