Job Description

OVERVIEW

You will play a key role within Kruger’s Real Estate Department team. This position combines responsibilities related to operational accounting, bookkeeping, preparation of financial statements, as well as financial analyses related to real estate projects. This is a versatile and less conventional role, intended for a professional with a strong accounting background who is also comfortable with financial and analytical concepts, within an active and diversified real estate project environment.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

General and Financial Accounting

· Perform full-cycle bookkeeping for the real estate entities under your responsibility;

· Prepare and record monthly accounting entries (month-end close, accruals, amortization, bank entries, etc.);

· Reconcile general ledger accounts and analyze variances;

· Participate in the preparation of periodic financial statements in accordance with ASPE;

· Support budgeting-related activities.

Accounts Payable and Project Cost Tracking

· Process vendor invoices related to real estate projects;

· Enter invoices into the JD Edwards (JDE) system in relation to purchase orders (POs);

· Track project costs (CAPEX and OPEX) and ensure proper cost allocation;

· Collaborate with internal teams (real estate, projects, procurement) to resolve billing discrepancies or issues.

Financial Analysis and Management Support

· Prepare ad hoc financial analyses related to real estate projects (budget tracking, cost analysis, variances);

· Contribute to the preparation of financial information required for decision-making;

· Support the Real Estate Department in the financial evaluation of projects, as needed.

Process Improvement and Compliance

· Ensure compliance with Kruger’s internal controls and financial policies;

· Participate in the continuous improvement of the department’s accounting and financial processes;

· Ensure accounting practices comply with applicable standards and internal policies.

EDUCATION

· University degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Accounting or in Accounting Sciences;

· Minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of relevant accounting experience;

· Experience in real estate accounting, project accounting or within a corporate environment is preferable.

· CPA designation or progress toward CPA certification is preferable.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

· Excellent knowledge of accounting principles (ASPE);

· Strong understanding of financial and analytical concepts;

· Experience with an ERP system (JD Edwards is a strong asset);

· Advanced proficiency in Excel;

· Ability to work with project-related financial data;

· Versatility and ability to balance operational and analytical tasks;

· Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and rigor;

· Autonomy and sound professional judgment;

· Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams;

· Strong prioritization skills in a fast-evolving environment.

LANGUAGES

· Bilingualism essential: spoken and written (French and English)

Knowledge of English is required for this specific position as Kruger deals with partners across North America and the successful candidate will be required to communicate frequently with them. Kruger has taken all reasonable steps to avoid imposing English language requirements, including assessing the actual language needs associated with the duties to be performed, ensuring that the language skills already required of other employees were insufficient for the performance of those duties, and limiting as much as possible the number of positions with duties requiring English language skills.
