The Home Equity Loan Specialist conducts outbound calling with potential borrowers in a timely manner to review Home Equity Lines of Credit (HELOC) and Fixed 2nd mortgage inquiries. You will be responsible for the origination and processing of incoming applications. The position will require a vast knowledge of home equity products. You will work closely with an outstanding and highly motivated residential lending team who thrives in a fast-paced work environment.
Who YOU are:
- One to three years home equity lending experience.
- College degree or specialized certification preferred
- Ability to demonstrate a high sense of urgency in all activities to meet the needs of the members. Works as the member's advocate in the lending process.
- Ability to communicate by phone and email in a proactive, member-oriented manner.
- Ability to handle daily routine with moderate freedom to interpret or to act upon various situations, and effectively multi-task and process a large volume of work with a high degree of accuracy.
- Working knowledge of industry related to TRID regulations and requirements.
- Working knowledge and comprehension of financial mathematical skills and ability to perform needed calculations.
- Strong pipeline management skills.
What YOU’LL do:
- Direct communication with members to include conducting initial loan interviews to assist with application process, determining member needs, providing product education, and requesting any application documents needed.
- Perform initial pre-qualification and pre-underwrite of loan request upon receipt of applicable documents to include credit report, income verification and appraisal.
- Maintain an accurate understanding and thorough knowledge of home equity product offering, underwriting guidelines, TRID LE/CD disclosure, and HMDA related requirements.
- Review, verification, and thorough analysis of related documentation provided by member(s) and 3rd party service providers.
- Mentor Junior Residential Lending Equity Specialists; Serve as a backup for the Junior Residential Lending Equity Specialists, as assigned.
- Preparation of loan disclosures and closing document package.
- Communicates features and benefits of products to customers, cross-sells other products and services, up-sells loan amounts, and encourages additional account usage.
- Expedites the origination process by keeping all parties up to date on the status of the application and communicating new information relevant to the transaction. Researches and resolves issues related to the application.
