Job Summary:

The Metrology Specialist supports laboratory operations by performing qualification, calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities for analytical and process instrumentation, with a priority focus on regulated equipment. This role also helps maintain equipment lifecycle documentation, vendor coordination, software validation support, and cross-site instrument transfer readiness.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled qualification, calibration, preventive maintenance, and repair activities for laboratory instrumentation and equipment
  • Install and qualify new equipment and coordinating vendor installation and qualification when needed
  • Maintain lifecycle documentation, calibration records, SOPs, and audit-ready equipment files in accordance with applicable procedures
  • Troubleshoot instrument and equipment issues, coordinating repairs with internal teams and external vendors to minimize downtime
  • Establish and maintain preventive maintenance programs, risk assessments, and inventory records for instruments, consumables, and spare parts
  • Support software validation activities in collaboration with vendors and internal IT
  • Provide training, mentoring, and after-hours support coordination for equipment monitoring systems and emergency response needs

What We Are Looking For:

  • Associate's Degree in electronics or mechanical technology or closely related field required
  • 1 year experience in a laboratory environment.
  • Related hands-on experience in calibration and repair of measuring and test equipment
  • Related hands-on experience in troubleshooting laboratory equipment and resolve process issues
  • Other Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree

The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed for This Role:

  • Proficient with Windows, Microsoft Office, Word with an emphasis on Excel required
  • Effective organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, clients and vendors
  • Effective communication and presentation skills

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $46,200.00 - $96,200.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
