RN Operating Room - Neuro
Job Description
Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.
Responsible for maintaining the knowledge and abilities essential to the performance of stated behaviors. Carries out legal responsibilities within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act. Accountable to the NURSE SVC SUPV 2 for overall work performance.
Required qualifications:
2-3 years Adult Operating Room (OR) RN clinical experience
Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California
Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
Proficiency in scrubbing surgical procedures
Proficiency in circulating duties
Minimum 2 years’ experience in scrubbing and circulating Neurosurgery cases, including Neurovascular (Open and Intraop angiography), Functional, Peripheral nerve and Neurooncological specialties.
Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations
Excellent verbal and written skills. Must be well orga
nized and detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and work independently and under pressure.
Basic computer skills and general PC knowledge
Preferred qualifications:
- BSN degree
Specialty Certification – CNOR
License/certifications
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
Current healthcare provider CPR certification
