Principal Summary
Ensure Tapestry, Inc. leather articles are researched, developed, and commercialized as expectations with best quality and price. Ensure that materials meet performance expectations and are delivered on time. Follow all aspects of leather sourcing in Asia.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Follow direction from New York Tapestry brand development teams on new leather developments. Ensure the target for quality, aesthetics, and prices are in line with expectations.
Partner closely with Tapestry material, product development, and operation teams during article development to ensure smooth transition into bulk production.
Ensure Raw Material Suppliers and Service Providers are maintaining Tapestry Quality Standards for raw material and finished good quality and aesthetics. When required manage to quickly close any issues involving quality claims.
Partner with Strategic Costing Team to ensure Service Providers are working to fair leather waste factors.
Ensure the Raw Material Suppliers maintain EC Vision and communicate any delivery issues to the necessary people within the Tapestry Team.
Work with the VP of Material Management during price negotiations.
On-boarding of new vendors as needed.

- Impact: management of $150 MM purchase across a vendor base of ~15 suppliers as well as $250 MM of leathers received at the Service Providers.
- Influence and Collaboration: excellent relationship builder that is able to influence change in a matrix environment; excellent communicator.
- Geography: Asia responsibility.
Education/ Credentials and/or Experience: 15 years working experience in leather sourcing, manufacturing and product development.
