Description
- Provide 1:1 individualized academic and behavioral support as outlined in their IEP to assigned student throughout the school day
- Support the student’s access to classroom instruction, helping them stay engaged with lessons and assignments
- Provide behavioral support and redirection aligned with the student’s behavior plan
- Encourage the student’s independence and confidence while gradually reducing support when appropriate
- Work with staff to develop behavioral intervention plans and implement plans to ensure student learning and classroom behavior goals are met
- Work with staff to adapt and provide academic support plans for student with special needs
- Help maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
- Confer and collaborate with teachers to ensure accommodations are met in inclusive settings; and
- Provide input for student’s IEP
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework or degree preferred.
- Experience working with students with substantial behavioral needs.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate with staff, school administrators, parents/guardians, and students.
