Focus of the role
As a Senior DAC & Cisco Solution Sales Specialist, you are a trusted technology advisor and customer advocate who thrives on developing comprehensive, tailored technology solutions for our customers. You understand Telstra’s customer needs intimately, applying your deep knowledge of our products and services and key relationships (e.g. Account Team) to influence their technology strategy.

You will draw on your knowledge of Telstra’s Data and Connectivity (DAC) portfolio and of Cisco portfolio of products and services to help drive strategic growth across our Indirect & Direct channel ecosystem in line with Telstra’s CF30 strategy. Alignment with internal and external stakeholders—including Cisco, Telstra’s Indirect Channel, and Telstra internal teams — will be critical to lead partner programs, enhance sales performance, and support operational excellence. The role also champions thought leadership, Telstra’s Direct & Indirect Channel enablement, and community engagement to strengthen Telstra’s position as the leading Cisco partner.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Solution Sales Specialist, you combine your deep knowledge of Telstra’s solutions and products with business insight to deliver the following responsibilities:
- Apply deep technical expertise across complex, enterprise-scale technology domains, including Data & Connectivity (DAC) architectures and Cisco Networking & Security (e.g., SD-WAN, SASE, Zero Trust), to design and engineer end-to-end, scalable solutions. Leverage advanced knowledge of cloud-native data platforms, network design, and integration patterns to translate customer requirements into robust, deployable architectures. Incorporate emerging technologies (e.g., AI/ML-enabled data insights, automation, and edge computing) to optimise performance, security, and resilience, ensuring solutions are technically sound, commercially viable, and aligned to customer outcomes.
- Lead the design and commercialisation of complex, enterprise-grade Data & Connectivity solutions by combining deep technical engineering expertise with solution sales capability. Transform traditional service support into proactive, AI-enabled, and data-driven platforms that improve customer outcomes, platform reliability, and business growth.
- Make a strong contribution to sales and revenue growth through developing and maintaining a strong qualified pipeline of incremental opportunities in relation to Data and Connectivity (DAC) and Cisco solutions sets, including developing customer technology strategies, roadmaps and business plans to support sales opportunity identification.
- Leverage substantial expertise in technology solutions and sales to manage sales opportunities from identification and qualification to closing, supporting sales teams to develop and implement effective sales plans and strategies. This includes providing input and support when sought out to orchestrate domain/multi-domain solution concepts and resources.
- Recognised as a technical sales expert and trusted technology advisor to key senior stakeholders (external and internal), producing deep technical and business insights that articulate how Telstra’s solutions (that consider partner’s, vendors and alliances) can be used to transform our customer’s business, and influence technology strategy.
- Authentically engage with and effectively influence a diverse, multi-stakeholder client (including C-Suite), internal and external landscape to establish and negotiate a balanced technology solution that meets commercial and customer requirements.
- Significantly contribute to and role model continuous learning by maintaining a very high level of currency in technology solutions, emerging technologies and industry trends. Leverage your knowledge to coach and develop cross-functional team members on the latest products, pricing and solutions.

Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in strategic solution selling and relationship management.
- Strong background in Data and Connectivity (DAC) & Cisco product sales, particularly Network hardware and security.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing Data and Connectivity (DAC) & Cisco GTM programs.
- Familiarity with Telstra Data and Connectivity (DAC) products and Cisco network solutions, and licensing programs.
- Experience in sales enablement and program management.
- Excellent stakeholder collaboration and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
- A growth mindset with a proactive, independent approach to identifying new opportunities.
- Ability to work across cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority.
