JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Summary of the Job:
The Pain Management Physician is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with acute and chronic pain conditions. This role involves developing individualized, evidence-based care plans utilizing interventional, pharmacologic, and non-pharmacologic therapies. The physician collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes, improve function, and enhance quality of life.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
- Completion of accredited residency (e.g., Anesthesiology, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Neurology)
- Fellowship training in Pain Medicine required
- Must be licensed by the Louisiana State board of Medical Examiners
- Board Certification or Eligible for Board Certification
- DEA registration and eligibility to prescribe controlled substances
- Epic experience a plus
- Expertise in interventional pain procedures
- Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic skills
- Knowledge of opioid stewardship and regulatory compliance
- Excellent communication and patient counseling abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment
Physical Demands:
Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 20 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.

Constant (67%-100%) - handling/feeling, talking, hearing, seeing
Frequently (34%-66%) - reaching
Occasionally (1%-33%) - lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), balancing, stooping, crouching
