Key Responsibilities:
Assist in managing daily clinical operations and nursing services
Supervise, train, and support nursing staff with a hands-on leadership style
Ensure regulatory compliance and accurate documentation
Participate in care planning, quality improvement, and risk management programs
Help drive staff engagement, retention, and performance
Step in for DON when needed to ensure seamless leadership continuity
Infection Control Responsibilities:
Support and enforce the facility’s infection prevention and control program
Monitor, track, and report infections in accordance with CDC and CMS guidelines
Ensure compliance with infection control policies, procedures, and best practices
Conduct infection control audits and participate in QAPI initiatives
Educate and train staff on infection prevention protocols (hand hygiene, PPE, isolation precautions)
Collaborate with leadership to implement corrective actions and reduce infection risks
What You Bring:
Active RN license in Virginia – Required
2+ years of nursing leadership in long-term care/SNF
Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations
Experience or familiarity with infection prevention and control practices preferred
Ability to lead with compassion, confidence, and clear communication
Organizational skills to juggle priorities and stay ahead of issues
A passion for resident-centered care and team development
