The department
The Quality Assurance team exist of quality assurance engineers and quality assurances inspectors/ metrologists.
The department acts as a gatekeeper and advisor for assuring and maintaining the Vanderlande Quality Standard for parts and products. This is achieved by closely cooperating with Supply Chain-, R&D- and Project Execution stakeholders.
The key-activities are divided into four different focus areas: Release the Product, Manage the Supplier, Solve the Incident and Measure & Inspect. In this way we can manage all Supplier Quality Assurance activities in a structured way and create focus to assure high quality and sustainable equipment and services through reliable supplier relationships. Within the function of Quality Inspector your focus area is Measure and Inspect.
What will you be doing?
As Quality Inspector you will plan the measurement and inspections on all Vanderlande products and assemblies. The goal of the measurement and inspections can differ from being part of a product release at a supplier, a root cause investigation or a risk-based incoming inspection. Based on the results, you will advise the Quality Assurance engineers in the department and be a sparrings partner for them on which next steps to take.
As a Measurement and Inspection team member, you are also continuous working on improving the department and being expertise centre for measurement and inspections for Vanderlande to keep the Quality Standard high and up to date.
Within this role we are looking for someone with knowledge and interest in electromechanical equipment to measure and inspect. As today our focus is mostly on mechanical equipment, but we want to expend our expertise also on the electromechanical parts. So, within this function you also will set the protocols and standards for this equipment.
The function requires drive and initiative. Key is a pro-active attitude focused on assuring the quality of Vanderlande’s products and learning from previous mistakes, Every Day Better!
Responsibilities
Executing and reporting measurements and inspections based on a planned schedule
Inspecting returned electrical components from sites/clients.
Performing visual and functional inspections on cabinets.
Primary focus on electrical components and secondary focus on mechanical components and assemblies.
Inspect incoming materials, in‑process components, and finished products to ensure conformance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards, report deviations and established standards, triggering corrective actions to prevent defects.
Conducting visual, mechanical, and electrical testing.
Performing dimensional checks using variable and attribute measuring instruments.
Advising the QA Engineers in releases of Vanderlande products at suppliers.
Advising the QA Engineers in root cause analysis for quality problems.
Record and document all inspection results accurately and in compliance with internal procedures.
Collaborate with Quality Engineers and colleagues across regions to support component verification and failure analysis.
Your profile
MBO level 4 qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with knowledge of relevant standards such as NEN 60204 and familiarity with NEN 3140 (VP) and NEN 1010.
Hands-on experience with industrial electromechanical components (e.g. I/O systems, frequency drives, 3-phase motors) and understanding of low-level control principles.
Skilled in functional testing, diagnostics, and troubleshooting using tools such as TIA Portal and Proneta, as well as electrical test equipment (e.g. oscilloscope, multimeter).
Ability to read, interpret, and work with engineering drawings, technical specifications, and perform mechanical measurements using standard tools.
Strong knowledge of quality processes including basic statistics, problem-solving methodologies (e.g. 8D, A3), and PPAP for first article inspections and supplier alignment.
Experience in conducting inspections, reporting results, and registering test outcomes in ERP systems, with affinity for material handling equipment as a plus.
Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams and willingness to travel up to 10%.
