About the role
At AGL, we’re powering Australia’s energy transition—and we’re looking for a Senior Application Specialist (SAP IS-U FI-CA) to play a critical role in shaping the systems that underpin our customer markets platform.
This is a high-impact, senior individual contributor role where you’ll act as the FI-CA subject matter expert, driving solution design, improving financial processes, and ensuring robust, scalable systems that support millions of customers.
What you’ll be doing -
Lead solution design and architecture across SAP IS-U FI-CA, including billing, invoicing, payments, collections, and reconciliations
Act as the go-to SME for FI-CA, guiding business and technology teams on best practice and solution decisions
Conduct architecture and impact assessments to ensure solutions align with AGL standards and financial controls
Troubleshoot and resolve complex, high-risk financial issues, ensuring data integrity and customer outcomes
Partner with cross-functional teams and vendors (e.g. Appian, Salesforce, Kaluza) to deliver integrated solutions
Drive continuous improvement across solution design, processes, and technical debt reduction
What you’ll bring -
Extensive experience with SAP IS-U FI-CA, ideally within large-scale utilities environments
Deep expertise across billing-to-cash processes, including payments, collections, credit, and reconciliation
Strong techno-functional capability, with the ability to translate business needs into scalable solutions
Proven track record managing complex financial scenarios and production issues
Strong stakeholder engagement skills across business and technical teams
Working knowledge of HANA/SQL and integration across SAP and digital platforms
Nice to have:
Experience in Australian energy markets and regulatory frameworks (AEMO, AER, etc.)
Exposure to large transformation programs or Agile delivery environments
