JOB SUMMARY

Job Profile Summary
Leads complex, multichannel communications programs that engage internal and external audiences in support of business objectives and corporate reputation. Highly collaborative senior practitioner and trusted advisor to leaders and internal clients on integrated content strategy and audience engagement; leads cross-functional project teams through influence to deliver measurable outcomes.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy and execution of integrated communications across owned channels — including internet, intranet, social media, streaming video, newsroom, broadcast and executive and employee platforms; evaluate and recommend new channels, platforms and capabilities (including AI-enabled tools) to improve audience engagement and advance business and reputation priorities

  • Translate complex business strategies and priorities into clear, engaging digital content for internal and external audiences. Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and internal clients on integrated content strategy and editorial planning, messaging, channel selection and audience engagement; influence cross-functional teams — including IT, Legal, HR, Investor Relations, brand and business units — to deliver results through collaboration rather than formal authority

  • Lead measurement and reporting for integrated content work; define program KPIs, analyze internet and intranet analytics, audience research, social listening and performance data, and translate insights into recommendations that improve content, channel performance and audience experience

  • Apply digital communications standards and policies — including the Social Computing Policy, brand guidelines and editorial guidelines, accessibility, content lifecycle and security, legal and regulatory considerations — across internal and external communications; recommend updates as needs evolve, and collaborate with Legal, IT, Security and Compliance on emerging risk and best practices

  • Lead matrixed project teams, coach team members on craft, strategy and channel approach, model high-quality standards and lead through collaboration across all teams.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in communications, journalism, other related field, or equivalent experience and the following job-related functions:

Work Experience

  • Minimum ten years of experience leading content and storytelling programs across owned channels (internet, intranet, social media, video, broadcast, executive, newsroom and employee platforms); experience identifying, researching and analyzing communications, audience and industry trends

  • Experience evaluating and recommending digital communications technologies, platforms and tools — including AI-enabled capabilities, content management systems, analytics platforms and collaboration and production software

  • Experience using analytics, audience research and performance data to define program KPIs, drive content and channel decisions and translate insights into recommendations that improve performance

  • Experience leading complex, multichannel initiatives — such as executive communications, major corporate announcements, organizational change and crisis and issues response — from planning through execution, including the creation, editing, research and production of digital, audiovisual and video content for internal and external audiences

  • Experience advising leaders and internal clients on communications approach, messaging and audience engagement; experience mentoring communications professionals and leading matrixed project teams; experience collaborating and influencing across functions — including IT, Legal, HR, Investor Relations, brand and business units

  • Experience managing project budgets, agency and vendor relationships, and production schedules; experience in use and function of production equipment including but not limited to audio/video recording equipment, lighting and digital cameras

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of: enterprise digital communications strategy, governance and best practices across owned channels — internet, intranet, streaming video, web collaboration, video and broadcast production, social media platforms, executive and employee channels — including emerging technologies and AI-enabled communications capabilities

  • Knowledge of: communications, graphics, analytics and production software and related applications, including but not limited to Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat, Premiere Pro and Audition), SharePoint, Microsoft Office, Content Management Systems like Opal, web and social analytics platforms, social listening tools and major social media platforms

  • Ability to: communicate and/or exchange written and verbal information and instructions; conduct executive-level presentations and counsel; lead with influence for both senior leaders and cross-functional partners through clear thinking and persuasive communication

  • Ability to: think strategically, set vision and direction, lead through ambiguity and apply quantitative reasoning to analytics, measurement and budget management

  • Ability to: write effectively for a variety of audiences and apply an editor’s mindset to peer content, ensuring style guidelines, legal requirements and business goals are considered in every content piece

  • Ability to: manage editorial calendars that includes multiple communication channels, numerous writers and contributors and quick deadlines
