Account Manager

Department: Account Management

Employment Type: Permanent

Location: Cardiff, UK

Reporting To: Head of Account Management

Description

SafeContractor is the UK’s largest SSIP-registered and UKAS-accredited supply chain risk management company, trusted by 40,000 contractors. We simplify compliance for clients and contractors of all sizes, helping to make workplaces safer for everyone, through a flexible, risk-based approach.

Our audits ensure contractors are properly assessed, while a user-friendly portal makes compliance straightforward and manageable.

We are looking for a commercially focused Account Manager to build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with our customers while driving account growth and ongoing revenue opportunities.

In this role, you will manage a portfolio of key accounts, identify new business opportunities within existing clients, and act as a trusted advisor to customer stakeholders. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Onboarding, Business Development, Customer Care, Audit, Finance, and Product to deliver an excellent client experience.

The ideal candidate will be relationship-driven, target-focused, and confident managing senior stakeholders while balancing customer success with commercial growth.

What that means day to day

  • Manage a portfolio of key client accounts, acting as the main point of contact for all account management matters.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with multiple stakeholders across client organisations, including senior decision-makers.
  • Drive account growth by embedding solutions within client businesses, identifying upsell opportunities, and achieving monthly revenue targets.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the successful delivery of solutions in line with client objectives and expectations.
  • Develop account plans, negotiate client contracts, and track key performance metrics to support ongoing customer success and commercial growth.

What you’ll need to be successful

To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience in an Account Manager, Key Account Manager, or similar client-facing role, with a strong track record of building and maintaining long-term customer relationships. You will be confident communicating with and influencing stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership and C-suite executives.

You will have experience delivering client-focused solutions that meet customer needs while driving commercial growth and retention. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously, without compromising attention to detail or customer experience, are essential.
