Job Description
At Cortrol, a part of the One HIPCO family, we’re continuing to grow and invest in our people, processes, and capabilities. We’re looking for a Senior Estimator who can bring both technical expertise and a strong customer-first mindset to support our sales team and drive accurate, timely project estimates.
This role plays a critical part in bridging engineering, sales, and operations—ensuring we deliver competitive, accurate quotes while maintaining high service levels for our customers.
What You’ll Do
Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and related documentation to develop accurate time, cost, material, and labor estimates
Utilize ERP systems to create and maintain bills of materials, locate parts, and track quote activity
Partner closely with sales and customers to clarify scope and gather missing project details
Collaborate cross-functionally to obtain pricing, lead times, and component information
Generate customer quotes using internal tools and calculators, with a target turnaround of 24 hours
Leverage historical data and cost records to improve estimate accuracy
Participate in design and pre-production reviews as needed
Identify opportunities to improve estimating processes, tools, and data accuracy
Ensure quality and accuracy in all work while continuously looking for improvements

What You Bring
Associate degree (or equivalent experience) in Construction Management, Estimating, or related field
3–5+ years of estimating or related experience (industrial, construction, or technical environment preferred)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience reading blueprints and technical documentation (AutoCAD experience is a plus)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Experience with ERP systems (Prelude and ACT! a plus, not required)
Comfort working with mathematical concepts such as ratios, percentages, and cost analysis
