Production Team Lead (Crew Leader)
Overview
We’re looking for a motivated Production Team Lead to help drive daily operations and support a high-performing manufacturing team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in keeping production running smoothly, supporting team members, and maintaining a safe, efficient work environment.
This is a great opportunity for someone with hands-on production experience who is ready to take the next step into a leadership role.
What You’ll Do
- Help coordinate daily production activities to ensure schedules are met and downtime is minimized
- Support and train team members on equipment operation and safety procedures
- Promote a safe, clean, and organized work environment at all times
- Assist with production scheduling and balancing workloads across teams
- Review pre-shift equipment inspections and address any issues proactively
- Monitor materials and finished products to ensure quality standards and customer specifications are met
- Lead daily “Sunrise” meetings, safety talks, and ongoing training efforts
- Communicate updates clearly between team members and management
- Support continuous improvement (CI) initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency
- Assist with performance feedback and employee development
- Maintain accurate production reports and required documentation
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Step in and support operations wherever needed to keep production running smoothly
What We’re Looking For
- 6 months to 1 year of experience in a production or manufacturing environment (1–3 years preferred)
- Basic understanding of production scheduling and reporting
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Basic knowledge of lumber math, grades, and species
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to stay organized and keep a team on track in a fast-paced environment
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required
