About the role:
Performs custodial duties to ensure the cleanliness, sanitation, and readiness of County buildings while supporting day-to-day operations.
- Cleans and sanitizes restrooms, floors, carpets, windows, furniture, and surfaces using approved products and procedures.
- Empties trash and recycling receptacles and replenishes paper, soap, and sanitation supplies as needed.
- Maintains building entrances, sidewalks, and adjacent outdoor areas by performing snow and ice removal, sweeping, and light groundskeeping.
- Prepares rooms for meetings and events by setting up and taking down tables, chairs, and other furniture and equipment.
- Opens and secures buildings according to assigned schedules; monitors safety conditions and reports hazards or security concerns.
- Works alongside maintenance or facilities staff in supporting minor project work, including hardware placement and cleaning after maintenance tasks.
- Operates and performs routine maintenance on custodial equipment such as vacuums, buffers, floor scrubbers, and carpet cleaners.
- Raises and lowers flags.
- Uses basic building systems software or reporting tools such as timesheets, maintenance request systems, or inventory logs.
- Responds to building occupants’ needs, resolves routine requests, and supports the County’s standards for a welcoming, service-oriented environment.
- No formal education or experience required.
