OPPORTUNITY
The BRFOB Inventory Coordinator is responsible for creating an inspiring experience for our guests.  They give outstanding service by meeting and exceeding our guests’ expectations and providing excellent internal service to the team.  Their responsibilities include assisting in the smooth and seamless operations of the business, reaching store goals, upholding product quality and consistency standards, controlling inventory levels and mitigating waste, maintaining equipment and facilities, and safely handling all of our products and equipment. They are part of a cohesive Bi-Rite team that supports the Bi-Rite Missions, Vision, and Community Values.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for timely and accurately purchasing products and supplies for all Market locations. Responsible for timely and accurately purchasing products as assigned by the Senior Manager Purchasing.
  • Contributes to sales targets by driving in-stock rates and contributes to net margin by accurately predicting inventory and mitigating spoilage.
  • Supports new product development through procuring requested products, and makes recommendations that meet specified criteria such as price, quantity, quality, and availability.
  • Maintains established vendor relationships with open communication that builds positive partnerships.
  • Maintains accurate product data related to purchasing for items in various databases.
  • Collaborates with Category Sales Managers and Department Managers to resolve availability issues with key products and suppliers.
  • Collaborates with Director of Product + Purchasing, Senior Manager Purchasing, Category Sales Managers and Department Managers to meet sales and margin goals.
  • Travels to Bi-Rite locations, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 4+ years ordering, purchasing, receiving, inventory control or related experience, preferable in a food or retail environment.
  • Strong data analysis skills – you love using numbers to answer questions! Demonstrated ability to research, organize, evaluate, and analyze information for trends or patterns.
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel; ability to learn new technologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritize competing projects and needs. Organized, detail-oriented, self-starter.
  • Ability to write and maintain systems, operating procedures and/or ordering guides that ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Solid math skills for basic budgeting, and inventory control. 
  • Experience working in a cross-functional team at various locations.
  • Critical thinking, troubleshooting, data analysis, and process building skills; meticulous attention to detail.
  • ServSafe Certification, California Food Handler card is required within 30 days post-hire.  Bi-Rite provides on-site paid training and certification.
