Whether you've performed on stage, taught a studio class, danced with a crew, or grown-up choreographing routines in your living room, if dance is your thing and you know how to inspire kids, we want to hear from you! What You'll Do As our Dance Activity Specialist, you'll design and lead project-based dance programming that gets kids moving and growing. A typical week might include: Building fun, age-appropriate dance lessons across styles you love such as hip-hop, ballet, contemporary, Afro-Caribbean, jazz, K-pop, you name it Choreographing routines and prepping participants for showcases, performances, and culminating events families won't forget Partnering with site leadership to shape standout youth development programming Building real relationships with participants, their families, and school staff Bringing the encouragement, energy, and resources kids need to shine Handling the behind-the-scenes organization as well such as paperwork, materials prep, and timely program documentation Who You Are You have 2+ years of dance experience, performing, teaching, competing, or coaching (formal training is great, but lived experience counts too!) You've worked with kids or youth before and you know how to lead a room of elementary, middle, or high schoolers You're a natural motivator who can turn a shy first-timer into a confident performer You're organized, dependable, and can juggle priorities without missing a beat You're comfortable with Microsoft Office and can manage your own schedule and deliverables Bachelor's degree preferred Pay Rate: $20/hour The Perks Part-time during the school year with flexibility that fits your life Up to 25 hours/week during summer — more time with the kids, more impact, more income Be part of an organization that's been transforming NYC communities since 1953 Watch your students light up as they perform what you helped them create The Child Center of NY is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
