POSITION SUMMARY:
As a member of a cross-functional team, an Operator A performs production work to assemble/fabricate a product or sub-assembly in accordance with team goals. Ensures product/process quality and efficiency through inspection and continuous improvement activities. Maintains procedures to provide compliance with quality standards for assigned area. Performs basic preventative maintenance and routine product changeover setups. Maintains material movement systems and completes proper paperwork and documentation. Participates in annual planning process, understanding plant objectives and identifying improvements to help attain goals. Performs other duties as necessary in support of team objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma; or equivalent.
- Preferred 1+ year(s) experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing environment, with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.
- Must be able to interact effectively with other team members
- Demonstrated ability to operate within production and quality standards; including being able to operate/utilize all job-related equipment. Equipment may include hand cart, hand tools, production machinery and other related equipment and tools.
- Demonstrated good attendance, safety, and performance record.
- Proven experience working with cross functional teams to complete daily tasks and projects.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other employees.
- Knowledge/experience of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify and troubleshoot issues that may arise.
ROLE EXPECTATIONs
- Performs production work to assemble or fabricate a product or sub-assembly in accordance with team production goals. May perform work manually and/or by machine operation.
- Ensures product and process quality and efficiency through appropriate inspection and continuous improvement problem solving activities. Maintains procedures and standards to provide compliance with quality standards for assigned area.
- Efficiently performs basic preventative maintenance and routine product changeover setups.
- Maintains material movement systems and completes proper paperwork and documentation to guide operations of the team.
- Performs/utilizes the Kanban system, RF system, inventory transactions, and barcode scanning.
- Report any unsafe condition or action to his or her supervisor.
- Report any work-related injury to his or her supervisor.
- Not operate a machine or equipment until trained in the operating procedures, hazards, and safeguards and has been assigned to do so by the employer.
- Not remove, displace, destroy, or carry off any safeguard or interfere with the use by any other person.
- Use required personal protective equipment or devices where required.
- Perform other duties as necessary in support of team objectives. Participate in Continuous Improvement activities to improve area.
- Keeps work area clean and organized.
- Quickly adapt to changing priorities and running different equipment throughout the shift.
- Other duties as required.
Physical requirements:
- Standing for 8 hour shift
- Regularly Required: repetitive movement of hands and fingers.
- May involve continuous or repetitive reaching with hands and arms, pushing and pulling of carts and racks.
- An Employee is required to lift 1 to 10 pounds constantly.
- An employee may be required to lift 10 to 25 pounds occasionally
- Employee may lift up to 50 pounds on rare occasions.
- May be required to twist at the waist and to bend at the knees or waist.
- Possible exposure to atmospheric conditions, such as: dust, fumes, noise and varying temperatures.
