Job Description
[What the role is]
The Joint Operations Planning Department (JOPD) consists of three branches – NEA Operations Centre (NOC), Emergency Preparedness Branch and Plans & Development Branch. JOPD coordinates the development of plans and readiness of NEA’s current operations, contingency and national emergency plans. By maintaining situational awareness of key events and incidents through the NOC, JOPD also ensures synergy across Division/Departments/Agencies for joint responses during crisis and emergency.[What you will be working on]
Reporting to the Deputy Director of the JOPD, your roles will include, but not limited to the following:
- Develop operation plans, standard operating procedures and, design, coordinate and conduct of related exercises (table-top to ground deployment) to validate the operational readiness plans of the various departments
- Develop and review contingency plans at the intra and inter-agency level and to monitor business continuity plans
- Oversee NEA’s contingency plans to respond to a crisis / emergency and support other Ministries/Agencies to provide an integrated operational response
- Participate in various emergency exercises at the Ministries/Agencies level
- Coordinate with the Head (Emergency Preparedness Branch) and Head (NEA Operations Centre) to develop and integrate new contingency plans at the intra and inter-agency level
[What we are looking for]
Requirements:
- At least 10 - 15 years of broad-based experience in operations planning/training and staff work, prior experience with the SAF or Home Team equivalent
- Experience in the management and running of an Operations Centre
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Basic Microsoft Sharepoint knowledge will be an advantage
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and highly volatile environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time
