Senior/Principal CAD Mech Technician

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically strong Mechanical CAD Technician to support multidisciplinary engineering teams in delivering high-quality design and drafting outputs for energy, oil & gas, and industrial projects.

The role focuses on piping design, 3D modelling, P&ID development, and coordinated design delivery using industry-standard tools such as AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AVEVA E3D, and Bentley software platforms.

• Prepare P&IDs, PFDs, and engineering drawings in line with project specifications and standards
• Develop 2D/3D models for piping, equipment layouts, and plant systems
• Produce GA drawings, isometrics, and fabrication drawings
• Update and maintain as-built drawings and redline mark-ups
• Perform 3D modelling using AutoCAD Plant 3D / AVEVA E3D / Bentley tools
• Ensure model accuracy, clash detection, and interdisciplinary coordination
• Support coordinated design reviews with mechanical, electrical, civil, and process teams
• Prepare piping layouts, routing, and pipe support details
• Generate Material Take-Offs (MTOs), BOMs, and reports
• Work with engineers to ensure compliance with design standards and codes
• Support project execution across concept, FEED, and detailed design stages
• Deliver drawings within schedule, quality, and client requirements
• Maintain documentation in line with QA/QC procedures

Key Skills & Experience

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D Drafting), AutoCAD Plant 3D, AVEVA E3D / PDMS, Bentley 
• Strong experience in P&IDs, piping layouts, and equipment GA drawings, 3D modelling and clash detection, Isometrics and fabrication drawings
• Exposure to Oil & Gas / Energy / Power / Water sectors
• Familiarity with Engineering standards and codes, Interdisciplinary coordination workflows

Qualifications

• Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)

Experience

• 8–15 years (flexible depending on role level)
• Experience in EPC / design consultancy projects preferred
