Job Description
The shipper/receiver is responsible for ensuring efficient operation of the shipping and receiving department. This position will have an ability to safely operate various handheld tools as well as operate a forklift.
This position must have an acute attention to detail with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Summary
Fulfill all orders within a timely manner minimizing shipping errors
Prepare shipping schedules and verify accuracy of all incoming and outgoing shipments
Be a point of contact for customers, resolving any discrepancies and concerns
Liaise with 3rd party trucking companies for shipment
Inspect and document damaged product and discrepancies for reconciliation
Apply labels to product before shipment
Maintain documentation of all inbound and outbound shipment
An ability to utilize a forklift and perform inspections
Ensure warehouse cleanliness daily
Inspect all product and communicate to management of any inconsistencies
Move items to appropriate areas
Support other departments as needed
Always adhere to company safety policies
Ensure all health and safety guidelines are being followed
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Must have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent
3+ years of experience
Must possess a valid forklift ticket
Aptitude for problem solving
An ability to remain focused and efficient while working within tight deadlines
An ability to resolve issues in high pressure situations
Excellent communication and organization skills
An ability to lift 10 lbs. or more
Must be able to stand for long periods of time
High level of integrity and work ethic
An ability to work independently and as part of a team
An ability to work with minimal supervision
