Job Description
Position Summary
Reporting into Finance Director, APAC, you will be responsible for all Finance & Accounting functions including general accounting, tax, treasury, financial reporting, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable in the region of India, West Asia and South East Asia (Healthcare division) and IT division.
What You Will Do
- General accounting
- Responsibilities include directing the month, quarter and year end closing tasks; journal entry review and approvals; account reconciliation approval and analysis; knowledge of and compliance with US and Ind AS.
- Implement and maintain all corporate policies and procedures and ensure all SOX related compliance. Direct and ensure completion of all SOX related activity in India region.
- Tax responsibilities
- Responsibilities includes ensure timely preparation and filing GST, TDS, Income Tax Returns and accompanying tax schedules with compliance to local tax laws.
- Support to external partners for closing Transfer Pricing audit, Statutory Audit and Tax Audit and support for assessment of income tax and GST.
- Ensure compliance with all corporate tax policies and completion of annual tax packages for India region.
- Treasury responsibilities
- Treasury responsibilities include all cash management functions, include set up of Bankers’ Guarantee (BG), follow through the whole process of BG application process.
- Contact banker for wire payments, approving wire transfer transactions and other banking platforms as relevant. Manages cashflow position by monitoring daily bank balances.
- Direct the payroll function
- Payroll responsibilities include review and approval of payroll processing; ensuring employee benefits are computed and paid correctly.
- Require the knowledge of local individual employee’s provident fund (PF) contribution rates and tax benefits rules. Keep frequent updates with changes.
- Direct the accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions
- The responsibilities include close AR & AP ledgers in Accounting System (TCS iON).
- AP - review general supplier invoices, and employees’ expense reimbursement reports. Approve wire transfer payment instructions in various banking platform.
- AR – Setting credit limit and payment terms of all customers. Review monitoring ageing report every month-end and follow up on any collection issues.
- Financial reporting responsibilities
- Financial reporting responsibilities include the completion of local statutory audits, preparation and filing of financial statements.
- Develop and prepare the appropriate financial analytics for annual budgeting, monthly sales revenue forecast and monthly closing reviews for business operations management.
- Manage a staff of direct reports consisting of:
- 1 Assistant Manager, Accounts
- 1 Senior Accountant
- 1 Accountant
- Manage team performance and development. Establish an action plan and review with team members on progress and outcome. Review existing capabilities and discuss with team members to identify areas of development and perform one on one appraisal and provide ratings for team members.
- Commercial support
- Provide financial analysis, accounting support, and operational support for all company initiatives and ad hoc projects in support of the business operations and corporate strategy.
- Responsibilities include directing and supporting the process to start representation offices, warehousing facilities in India region.
The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed
- Bachelor's degree, major in Finance or Accounting.
- Accounting qualifications. Professional certification is required.
- Understanding of India and US GAAP accounting process and policies, account reconciliation experience, general ledger and monthly closing experience
- Financial Controller experience in a multi-national (medical device, healthcare services or manufacturing company preferred)
- Minimum 5-7 years supervisory experience.
- Technology – ERP, ideally TCS Ion, Microsoft Dynamics and Oracle systems knowledge and implementation experience
- Audit and controls and compliance experience will be an advantage.
