Position Summary
The Central Supply Coordinator ensures nursing and administrative staff have sufficient medical supplies and durable medical equipment (DME) to maintain high-quality resident care. Key tasks include ordering, receiving, storing, and distributing supplies while managing inventory levels, budgets, and vendor relationships to ensure operational efficiency.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct regular inventory checks, monitor par levels at nursing stations, and restock supplies to ensure availability, including checking daily crash carts.

Place purchase orders with vendors, verify delivery accuracy, and process returns for damaged merchandise.

Receive, unpack, and distribute medical and nursing supplies to designated areas or directly to residents.

Monitor costs, adhere to budget guidelines, and assist with resident billing for specialized supplies.

Maintain an organized, clean work area, follow infection control procedures, and maintain documentation for regulatory compliance.

Other duties as assigned.
Management Responsibilities

Performs those administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the department, including provision for the selection and development of employees, salary and budget administration, employee counseling and motivation, disciplinary action, organization of goals and objectives, and planning, organizing, integrating and measuring the work performed within the department.
Education and/or Experience
-
Previous experience in a nursing home, hospital, or central supply setting is required.

Proven success in strategic planning, financial management, and operational execution.

Strong knowledge of healthcare delivery systems, regulations, and reimbursement models.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must have a valid state driver’s license.
