POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Product Owner for Medical Imaging is a team-level Product Owner on HealthMark’s SAFe Agile Release Train, responsible for maximizing the value delivered by an Agile team building HealthMark’s medical imaging platforms: advancing digital radiology image delivery, replacing physical media, and enabling remote clinical collaboration. Purview recently joined HealthMark through acquisition, and this role partners daily with Purview’s established engineering team in Brazil while helping integrate the platforms into the broader HealthMark portfolio. A successful Product Owner will grow over time from team-level ownership into feature-level definition in partnership with Product Management. This role supports and contributes to a CRAFT-driven culture (Client-Focused, Respectful, Accountable, Forward Thinking, and Team-Oriented).
PRIMARY ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own and prioritize the team backlog, aligning it with the Medical Imaging product roadmap and strategic goals
- Elaborate features into clear user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria, and accept completed stories on behalf of the team
- Collaborate daily with our Brazil-based engineering team on backlog refinement, story elaboration, and story acceptance
- Participating in PI Planning and team ceremonies, presenting the team backlog, defining iteration goals, and contributing to PI objectives
- Partner with other Product Owners across the Agile Release Train to surface risks and manage cross-team dependencies
- Develop subject matter expertise in Medical Imaging workflows and the Purview Image and Expert View platforms
- Work with operations and support teams to triage production issues and customer escalations, prioritizing them into the team backlog
- Drive backlog priorities that integrate Medical Imaging capabilities with HealthMark’s platforms and processes
- Build HIPAA, privacy, and data compliance requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, and the team’s definition of done
- Partner with Product Management on feature definition, with increasing ownership over time
- Some travel to our Dallas HQ and/or to client sites may be required
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Bachelor's or master's degree, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years in Product Owner or similar product roles
- Strong experience with Agile/SAFe methodologies
- Experience writing user stories and managing backlogs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- SAFe Certification:
- SAFe POPM certification preferred
- Required within 6 months of hire if not already certified
Preferred:
- Experience with medical imaging platforms and workflows (e.g., PACS, DICOM, image exchange) is strongly preferred
- Healthcare IT domain experience (e.g., Release of Information, health records exchange) combined with deep SAFe practice
- Experience working with distributed or near-shore engineering teams
