Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Risk Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Commercial Credit Risk Oversight Analyst.
The primary responsibility of this role is to support the Commercial Credit Risk Oversight function by strengthening policies and procedures related to underwriting, documentation, portfolio management, and regulatory compliance across Commercial Services, with a focus on alignment between Toyota Financial Services (TFS) and Toyota Financial Savings Bank (TFSB).
Reporting to the Commercial Credit Risk Oversight Manager, the person in this role will support the objective to standardize and modernize processes, monitor portfolio-level risk, and ensure compliance across the commercial portfolio through cross-functional partnership with Underwriting, Sales, Credit Review, Audit, Operations, Legal, and Compliance.
What you’ll be doing
Assist in the alignment of underwriting and credit analysis standards between TMCC and TFSB by researching best practices, drafting unified guideline recommendations, and analyzing critical underwriting metrics and risk rating methodologies to ensure portfolio credit quality aligns with the enterprise risk appetite.
Conduct ongoing reviews of internal credit policies and procedures against evolving regulatory requirements; perform gap analyses, track compliance metrics, and maintain documentation to support full regulatory compliance and ensure the institution remains audit-ready and operates within established risk parameters.
Support advanced portfolio monitoring efforts by analyzing key risk indicators in the commercial portfolio, identifying early warning signs through data analytics and reporting tools, and preparing findings and recommendations for policy enhancements to minimize portfolio risk.
Assist in enhancing underwriting and documentation processes by identifying inefficiencies, supporting the development and implementation of automated and manual controls within current systems, and contributing to efforts that streamline operations, minimize errors, and strengthen overall portfolio quality.
Provide research, data analysis, and reporting to the Commercial Credit Risk Oversight Manager in delivering actionable recommendations and strategic guidance to internal commercial services teams, senior leadership, and regulatory bodies; collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Internal Audit, Credit Review, Operations and Compliance stakeholders to foster an institution-wide culture of risk awareness.
What you bring
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent work experience to include 1+ years of internships
1+ years of experience in commercial credit analysis, credit risk, underwriting, or regulatory compliance within a banking or financial institution regulated by FDIC, OCC, or similar regulatory bodies
Strong understanding of commercial lending regulations, underwriting standards, risk rating methodologies, and key financial metrics (i.e. Liquidity/leverage ratios, debt service coverage, Loan to Value, etc.)
Proficiency in data analytics and reporting tools such as advanced Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools to perform gap analyses and audit/compliance remediation activities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, presentations, and policy documentation for leadership and cross-functional stakeholders across Legal, Commercial Services, Audit, and Compliance.
Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate across business units in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment
Added bonus if you have
Master’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Direct experience responding to or preparing for regulatory examinations, including remediation of findings and management of audit and compliance deliverables.
3+ years of experience in commercial credit analysis, credit risk, underwriting, or regulatory compliance.
3+ years of experience at a captive auto finance company or banking institution with direct exposure to wholesale commercial credit portfolios, including underwriting, portfolio management, or management of high-risk commercial accounts.
Prior experience working in a dual-entity or multi-charter banking environment with exposure to underwriting and documentation standardization across multiple business lines.
