Turfway Park Racing & Gaming is a gaming facility in Florence, Kentucky. Turfway Park Racing & Gaming features 850 popular, thrilling, state-of-the-art HRM games, a simulcast area with VIP section, event center, live horse racing, restaurants and bars.
JOB SUMMARY
This position is accountable for directing the work of the Hourly F&B staff in Bourbon and Brew, Serena’s, and the Beverage department at Turfway Park Racing and Gaming. Monitor and ensure excellent service including food & beverage quality, food & beverage presentation and service standards. Ensures cleanliness, safety & compliance throughout the outlets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Development of the Hourly staff through Mentor meetings and specific training required including certification and compliance.
• Delegates duties and assign responsibilities to staff.
• Constant review of service execution, ticket times and production schedules.
• Completes and processes performance reviews.
• Assist in development of Team Members, conducts interviews, and participates in the selection, hiring, coaching, retention and termination process.
• Responsible for attending to guest complaints and/or issues resolving matters as expediently as possible.
• Verifies that all sanitation and nutrition practices are maintained.
• Ensures the safety and security of Team Members and guests.
• Ensures product is ordered, stored and inventoried daily.
• Responsible for upholding proper food and beverage preparation and presentation standards – making the necessary corrections.
• Assists with monitoring staffing levels to maintain budgeted levels of employment.
• Control inventory and usage
• Completes and processes performance reviews.
• Meets with departmental directors and managers as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Management abilities demonstrated in managing the F&B operation effectiveness.
• Maintaining interpersonal working relationships among all personnel and support departments.
• Willingness to assume overall responsibility relative to the performance of the department, work flexible hours and handle high pressure deadlines.
• Creative problem solving and resolution management.
• Sense of urgency to tasks and goals as directed.
• Oral and written communication skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Prior experience in food and beverage operations.
• Two years of experience managing personnel.
• Associates degree or above or related field experience preferred.
• Able to obtain a valid Racing License and any applicable health certifications.
