This role is well suited to an architect who enjoys combining technical rigour with thoughtful design in highly coordinated environments. You will take ownership of significant design packages, contribute to solutions for complex industrial water facilities, and work closely with multidisciplinary teams across regions. Beyond project delivery, the role offers the opportunity to influence standards, mentor emerging talent, and grow your leadership profile within a global practice committed to innovation, sustainability, and professional development.
Role Accountabilities
- Embrace and demonstrate the Arcadis behavioral framework in your day-to-day work.
- Prioritize your own safety and safety of others by understanding and following the Arcadis Health and Safety Principles.
- Lead architectural design packages for industrial water facility projects, shaping solutions that respond to client goals, process requirements, health and safety expectations, and programme constraints.
- Develop and coordinate architectural solutions for industrial water and wastewater treatment facilities, including process buildings, chemical storage areas, pump stations, control rooms, utility buildings, laboratories, and site layouts.
- Interface closely with process, MEP, structural, civil, and health and safety teams to ensure integrated, buildable, maintainable, and operationally efficient solutions.
- Support design development for new-build, brownfield, phased delivery, retrofit, and operational live-site conditions typical of industrial water facilities.
- Contribute to technical design reviews, coordination workshops, and client discussions, with the opportunity to help guide design decisions and build trusted working relationships.
- Review architectural deliverables to ensure consistency with project standards, regulatory requirements, authority approvals, and client guidelines for industrial water infrastructure.
- Help shape and improve industrial water facility standards, templates, and repeatable design approaches that strengthen quality, consistency, and delivery efficiency across projects.
- Support the team with technical drafting and design tools like Revit, while offering creative design ideas and visual presentations.
- Collaborate with global colleagues and project teams to ensure high-quality outcomes, maintaining clear and consistent communications across time zones and cultures.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, contributing to a supportive environment where knowledge sharing, professional growth, and design excellence are valued.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related equivalent.
- Achieved Licensed status or equivalent
- 12+ years of experience, with a proven track record in industrial water, wastewater, or water treatment facility design, including complex process-driven environments and multidisciplinary project delivery.
- Strong interpersonal skills are essential to this role.
- Proven capability across all project stages, from concept and test fits through IFC and construction support, with a strong appreciation for both design quality and technical delivery.
- Strong understanding of industrial water and wastewater treatment facility planning, operational workflows, equipment interfaces, and the architectural implications of process-driven infrastructure.
- Experience leading architectural scope and coordinating with Process, Structures, MEP, Civil, and Health and Safety teams.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage design packages, and balance quality, programme, and client expectations in complex project environments.
- Strong client-facing skills, including design reviews and presentations.
- Advanced proficiency in Revit; working knowledge of AutoCAD. Visualization tools are a plus.
- Experience working with international teams and global delivery models, ideally with U.S. or North American project experience, and confidence collaborating across disciplines, cultures, and geographies.
- Flexibility to support collaboration with U.S.-based teams and stakeholders, including occasional meetings in the evening in the Philippines, typically around 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong attention to detail
- Open-mindedness and enthusiasm for contributing to the team’s digital initiative and process automation efforts.
