A role in Financial Products & Services (FPS) means joining a high-impact team that designs and manages Target’s financial offerings—like Target Circle Card, Gift Cards, and Payments—to deliver intuitive, rewarding, and trusted experiences. As a Sr Manager, Finance Products and Services, you will serve as a strategic leader responsible for shaping the growth and evolution of Target’s Prepaid program. This role is specifically focused on advancing Target’s prepaid portfolio, including Target GiftCards and Open Loop offerings, across all channels.
You will own the strategic direction and performance of the prepaid category, including channel-level P&L outcomes, promotional and merchandising strategy, and business development initiatives. As the category leader, you will define how prepaid products show up for guests across the full lifecycle—from discovery and purchase through redemption—while driving engagement, accessibility, and financial performance.
This role operates at the intersection of multiple enterprise priorities, requiring strong cross-functional leadership across FP&S, Stores, Digital, Supply Chain, Cyber, and Compliance. You will act as both an owner and a strategic influencer—setting direction for the prepaid business while aligning partners to deliver against growth, fraud mitigation, and operational excellence goals.

Core Responsibilities:
Category Strategy & Performance
Define and lead the multi-year strategy for Target’s Prepaid program, aligning to enterprise priorities and long-term growth ambitions
Own category performance, including channel-level P&L, driving outcomes across growth, margin, cost, and guest engagement
Lead business performance routines, using data and insights to assess trends, identify root causes, and drive actions that improve category outcomes
Identify and activate opportunities across assortment, pricing, promotions, and omni-channel experiences, supported by clear performance metrics and KPIs
Enterprise Leadership & Cross-Functional Influence
Serve as a strategic thought partner and thought leader across FP&S and enterprise leaders, influencing decisions through data-driven insights, strategic narrative, and clear recommendations
Lead through matrixed teams to drive alignment, influence prioritization, and deliver complex, cross-functional initiatives
Set priorities and guide trade-off decisions that balance guest experience, financial outcomes, and operational feasibility
Build strong internal and external partnerships to accelerate decision-making and execution
Guest Experience, Fraud & Risk Management
Shape the end-to-end prepaid guest experience across all touchpoints—from purchase through redemption—across stores and digital channels
Co-own fraud strategy with Cyber and Compliance, driving controls that balance risk mitigation with a seamless guest experience
Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and evolving risk landscapes
Business Development & External Engagement
Lead engagement with external partners and industry stakeholders to unlock new capabilities and growth opportunities
Identify and evaluate new growth opportunities, including emerging capabilities, partnerships, and industry trends
Support Target’s presence in industry forums and external initiatives related to prepaid
About you:
Four Year Degree, preferably in Finance or Business-related area, or equivalent experience
8+ years of experience in strategy, category management, product management, or related fields
Strong financial acumen with experience managing or influencing P&L performance
Proven ability to operate at both strategic and executional levels in ambiguous environments
Experience building and sustaining senior-level partnerships across functions
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence through clear storytelling and insights
Experience in payments, prepaid, financial services, or retail preferred
