Job Description
• Define scope of design work related to component and sub-assy parts / module
• Responsible for ETE design and APQP activities
• Responsible for design work packages
• Run simulation at component level, using tools from Science teams (Domains)
• Lead reliability risk assessment process through ownership of FMEA document and mitigation action plan
• Define and execute qualification activities, from proto to test request, PTA, technical report and drawing release
• Responsible for internal and external validation with GTX suppliers and GTX customers for his parts (component, sub-system of full turbo), supplier process validation & readiness, in compliance to project milestones / phase exit criteria
• Single engineering focal point to supply base, manufacturing team and other departments for his component and / or subsystem
• Responsible for his design review and knowledge capture
• Prepare documentation in clear and technically accurate manner
• Initiate or update QCI and PI specifications as necessary to ensure products are inspected and made with procedures ensuring proper product function
• Define and update product specification and operational limits
• Provide technical support for technical offers for new bids / new quotes at customers for NPI, new applications
• Develop gap analysis vs. customers SOR at component level, sub-system for new applications, update ext FA
• Drive TI revision if needed to make sure test methods for validation are reflecting real operating conditions
• Drive field or launch issue resolution process using root cause analysis tools, document it by appropriate way (8D, 5WHY, Ishikawa, Knowledge Card, etc …..)
• Lead activity aiming continuous improvement of product functional performance
• Generate VE ideas contributing to cost reduction of the product in terms of design, materials and processes
• Persist on compliance with budget and resources allocated via AOP process
• Initiate and execute benchmarking activity related to his component & discipline
• Make sure lessons learned from the project are documented and shared within and/or outside the team
• Work in close collaboration with LE & PM within the project team
• Reports back through the GBE and the Domains any major gaps in simulation tools, knowledge gaps and product gaps to meet new performance, reliability and cost targets for future development
Qualification
• Bachelor Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or other related engineering discipline
• Experience in gasoline and/or diesel engines, turbomachinery, mechanical design or testing is preferred.
• Fluent in Korean/English
