
Occupational Therapy Assistant / Occupational Therapist (Per Diem)
Job Description
- Conduct occupational assessments, sensory needs assessments, reassessments and evaluate patient's current cognitive, functional, interpersonal, intrapersonal and vocational/avocational skills.
a. Occupational Therapist Assistant assists on the above. - Utilizes evaluation methods that are appropriate to the client's age, education, cultural and ethnic background, medical status and functional ability.
- Participates in the development of patient's treatment plan, including discharge planning goals, based on information received from assessments.
- Guides patient selection of individual tasks or projects which are appropriate to their defined needs and goals, encourages and facilitates patient participation in activities.
- Assists and teaches patients in individual and/or group work. Modifies teaching interventions based on evaluation process.
- Maintains accurate and timely records in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Implements interventions, including crisis management procedures, in collaboration with treatment team. Manage utilization of van and transport patients in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Participates in committees, Quality Assessment and Improvement activities and attends continuing education programs specific to providing psychiatric care for the population being treated.
- Complies with all established policies and procedures.
- Performs other work-related duties as directed or requested.
Occupational Therapy Assistant - 8108 - S14T
• Able to read, write, and communicate in English
• Entry level degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
• (OTA) - Currently licensed Occupational Therapist Assistant in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
• (NPI) - Current National Provider Identifier (NPI) registration
• (De-escalation) - Completion of an approved De-escalation Certification Course (obtain within 30 days,offered within)
• (BLS) - Basic Life Support certification (obtain within 60 days of position start, offered within)
• (Preferred) - National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy Certification (NBCOT)

• Able to read, write, and communicate in English
• Entry level degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
