About the Opportunity

The Behavioral Health Intake Associate is someone who is detail-oriented and with a passion for delivering exceptional service and operational accuracy. This individual plays a key role in supporting members accessing behavioral health services and is the first point of contact for incoming service requests. This individual will review and interpret authorization requirements using MVP contracts internal policies and procedures and will ensure timely and accurate case creation, assignment, and communication.

Qualifications you’ll bring: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1–2 years of clerical experience in a fast-paced, professional office environment
  • 1–2 years of experience in a clinical setting with direct interaction with healthcare providers
  • 1–2 years of customer service experience
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Word
  • Intermediate computer proficiency, including data entry and keyboarding skills
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy and efficiency
  • Strong ability to work independently while managing and prioritizing multiple responsibilities
  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion, including knowledge of HIPAA regulations
  • Ability to think logically and contribute to process improvements and efficiency

Your key responsibilities: 

  • Handle service requests and correspondence from providers, facilities, members, or their representatives via phone, fax, e-mail, and postal mail.
  • Review and interpret authorization requirements based on MVP contracts, riders, resources, policies, and procedures
  • Create and assign cases for service requests requiring notification or authorization
  • Make outgoing faxes, e-mails, and/or phone calls to providers with determinations or requests for additional information
  • Strictly maintain the confidentiality of our members and provider information.

Pay Transparency


MVP Health Care is committed to providing competitive employee compensation and benefits packages. The base pay range provided for this role reflects our good faith compensation estimate at the time of posting. MVP adheres to pay transparency nondiscrimination principles. Specific employment offers and associated compensation will be extended individually based on several factors, including but not limited to geographic location; relevant experience, education, and training; and the nature of and demand for the role.
