Quotient Sciences has a full‑time opportunity for a Sample Processing Technician, based onsite at our Clinical Research Unit in Nottingham. This is a key support role within our clinical operations, helping ensure clinical trials run safely, accurately, and efficiently.
Healthy volunteers take part in clinical trials at our unit. You will work closely with clinical staff, handling and managing biological samples collected during studies. Your work plays an important role in maintaining data quality and patient safety.
This is a hands‑on, site‑based role involving shift and weekend working, so applicants must be able to reliably travel to and from site for all scheduled shifts.
What you will be doing
You will be responsible for supporting clinical trials by:
Processing biological samples (blood, urine, and faeces) in line with study protocols and internal procedures
Preparing, packaging, and shipping samples to approved third‑party laboratories for offsite analysis
Completing associated paperwork, including shipment manifests and processing checks
Setting up laboratory work areas, preparing consumables, printing labels, and labelling study samples ahead of dosing
Ensuring source data is completed accurately and to a high standard
Working to internal processing timelines and quality targets
Supporting wider clinical operations when required, such as screening activities, data entry, or project support
Carrying out additional duties as needed to support the business
Skills and experience
Essential:
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English, Maths, and a Science subject
Ability to work accurately at pace and meet deadlines
Strong attention to detail and organisation skills
Clear communication skills and a professional, team‑focused approach
Ability to work onsite on a shift rota, including weekends
Desirable:
Experience in a science, healthcare, laboratory, or customer‑focused environment
A Life Science qualification or degree
This is an entry‑level role and full training will be provided.
