Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to support mining operations across the Southwest. This role is primarily field-based, working out of a company-provided service truck to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair Komatsu mining equipment on-site.
This is a high-impact role for technicians who thrive in hands-on environments, enjoy travel, and bring strong expertise in troubleshooting complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. You'll travel to mining and job sites across Arizona and California for several weeks at a time.
Key Job Responsibilities

Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on large mining equipment (e.g., haul trucks, shovels, excavators)

Work primarily in the field using a fully equipped service truck

Support equipment including:
- Komatsu haul trucks (HD785 and larger)
- Large excavators (PC2000 and above)
- Dozers (D375 and above)
- Apply advanced knoweldge of hydraulics, electrical systems, schematics and systems troubleshooting
- Perform complex, high accuracy repairs and determine appropriate repair methods.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and complete all levels of equipment repairs.
- Inspect tooling and PPE regularly.
- Communicate potential issues (materials, tooling, labor, quality, EHS, permitting, etc.) to leadership.
- Share relevant customer or vendor feedback.
- Maintain top technical competency and assist service crews as needed.
Qualifications/Requirements
- 3+ years of experience maintaining mining equipment (Electric Drive Trucks, shovels, drills, dozers, excavators, loaders preferred).
- Ability to read prints and complete repairs to OEM specifications.
- Able to work in the field for 4 - 6 weeks at a time, up to 70 hour weeks
- Clean driving record.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in hydraulics, low voltage electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Proficient with precision measuring instruments.
- Completion of an accredited apprenticeship or 1 year technical college program is a plus.
