The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Project Construction & Commissioning Manager (PCCM) to support the delivery of a major HVDC interconnector project connecting France and Spain.
Based in Massy, France, and working across both countries, you will play a critical role in the construction of converter stations as part of a large-scale energy infrastructure programme. You will lead project mobilisation, construction readiness, execution oversight, and commissioning activities while working closely with the Site Manager, Project Director, construction partners, and key stakeholders.
This role offers the opportunity to work on a strategically important cross-border project that supports Europe's energy transition. The successful candidate will bring strong construction leadership, stakeholder management expertise, and the ability to influence delivery partners in a complex EPC environment.
Your Impact
Lead and coordinate all Construction & Commissioning activities across the project lifecycle, from project handover through execution and close-out.
Manage the transfer from Tender to Construction, reviewing scope, schedule, budget, risks, opportunities, and execution strategy.
Organise and lead Construction & Commissioning kick-off activities, ensuring project readiness and alignment across key stakeholders.
Drive mobilisation activities and support the development and implementation of site execution plans.
Coordinate with the Site Manager to ensure effective planning, resource allocation, site infrastructure development, and project mobilisation.
Lead constructability reviews and ensure construction strategies developed during the tender phase are implemented throughout project execution.
Prepare and manage plans relating to storage, preservation, maintenance, and site-specific spare parts.
Manage interfaces with construction partners, contractors, subcontractors, and key project stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
Monitor construction progress, productivity, costs, forecasts, and schedule performance, implementing mitigation and recovery plans where required.
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, project procedures, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Maintain awareness of labour laws, permits, licences, HSE requirements, and project-specific certifications required for site execution.
Work closely with HSE, Quality, Engineering, Procurement, and Project Controls teams to achieve project objectives.
Coordinate subcontracted activities alongside the Site Subcontract Manager and ensure alignment with project plans and delivery targets.
Manage and coordinate Non-Budgeted Costs (NBCs) and support accurate financial reporting and forecasting.
Provide regular reporting to the Project Director and Construction Management, highlighting progress, risks, opportunities, and corrective actions.
Ensure that resources are mobilised and deployed effectively throughout the project lifecycle while balancing performance, schedule, and cost requirements.
Represent the site team in home-office-related activities and support effective communication between site and project leadership.
Coordinate construction disciplines to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of the project scope.
Ensure HVDC Construction & Commissioning processes, procedures, and guidelines are implemented and adhered to.
Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned, structured feedback, and constructability reviews during execution and site close-out.
Your Background
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related technical discipline.
Proven experience in Construction Management, Construction & Commissioning Management, Project Construction Management, Site Management, or similar leadership roles within major infrastructure, energy, or EPC projects.
Experience delivering HVDC projects, transmission projects, substations, power generation facilities, or large-scale EPC projects.
Strong construction and site execution background, including experience in mobilisation and multi-disciplinary project delivery.
Experience managing contractors, consortium partners, joint venture organisations, or complex delivery partner environments.
Preference will be given to candidates with significant civil construction experience.
Strong understanding of project controls, budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and construction planning.
Demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders across multiple organisations and project functions.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
