About Strescon Limited
Established in 1963, Strescon Limited has grown to become the largest precast, pre-stressed concrete manufacturer in Eastern Canada. Its primary market covers the Atlantic Provinces, the New England region of the United States, and Bermuda. Strescon manufactures a wide range of both architectural and structural precast/prestressed concrete products including bridge girders, wall panels, complete parking garages, hollow-core planking, piling and deck slabs. Strescon presently has two facilities: 70,000 sq. ft. in Saint John, New Brunswick and 50,000 sq. ft. In Bedford, Nova Scotia.
In addition to our engineered precast facilities for custom components, Strescon also operates a 32,000 sq. ft. facility in Saint John which manufactures standard concrete products for engineered drainage systems, such as pipe, manholes and catch basins.
Job Summary
The Pipe Detailer is responsible for detailing concrete pipe and manhole assemblies and components. The individual in this role will work with contract drawings while following the specifications as defined by individual municipalities. The position requires experience in a technical environment with strong background in computer applications and online document management. Exceptional time management and communication skills are critical as the ideal candidate must be able to multi-task, learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Data entry into specialized software ( Stack-It )
- Material take-offs from contract drawings
- Creating shop drawings in drafting software (AutoCad, Tekla Structures)
- Communication and collaboration with project managers, engineering, and the plant to create accurate drawings for each project
- Other duties as assigned
Technical Requirements
- Post-secondary education from a technical program (civil, structural, mechanical)
- Experience in manufacturing or construction would be considered an asset
- Experience using drafting software would be an asset
- Experience with Oracle / JD Edwards would be an asset
- Ability to read construction drawings
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
