Harborview Abuse and Trauma Center (HATC). Has an opportunity for a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Trainer within our unit at Harborview Medical Center.
The SANE trainer is a central member of the SANE medical team and training at Harborview Abuse and Trauma Center (HATC).
DUTIES
(but not limited to)
Assist the SANE Training manager in; Scheduling-trainers, sites, and dates
Participate in the development of curricula and training materials for Tele SANE program and SANE training program
Aid in community education and training
Assist with monthly SANE case reviews, developing content and presenting cases
Take part in statewide taskforce, workgroups committees related to SANE services
Participate in all Tele SANE hiring, interviewing, training (across WA) and quarterly program meetings
Maintain standards of DOJ SANE Guidelines
SCHEDULE
32 hrs.- day shift per week
Occasional work from home will be considered
This position will travel throughout the state of WA; potentially up to two weeks per month
Below lists the required schedule as it pertains to direct patient care
Provide Tele SANE coverage during daytime hours, 3 days per week and provide a minimum of 4 weekend or night shifts per month
Provide backup clinic coverage for vacations or sick leave for Children’s Medical Clinic and Adult/Teen Follow up clinic
Fill in for Tele SANE coverage emergencies as available.
Make independent judgments/decisions and take action regarding a wide range of routine and complex patient issues.
REQUIREMENTS
Graduated from an accredited school of nursing
Three or more years of recent SANE experience
Experienced SANE with understanding of processes at all emergency departments staffed by the HMC SANE team for acute sexual assault exams
Successful completion of the Harborview Medical Center 40-hour Core SANE training
Successful completion of the Harborview Medical Center 40-hour Pediatric SANE training (or willingness to complete upon hire)
This job will require travel throughout WA State, potentially up to one - two weeks per month.
