We are seeking a seasoned, dynamic Vice President, People to join our executive leadership team. This pivotal role will drive the strategic direction and operational execution of all People functions across the agency.
This role is responsible for leading the organization’s people strategy with a strong focus on systems, operations, and enterprise effectiveness, overseeing talent acquisition, employee relations, total rewards, performance management, learning and development, organizational and leadership development, compliance, People operations and technology, and workforce data and reporting. The Vice President, People partners closely with executive leadership to design scalable processes, strengthen operational and organizational infrastructure, optimize systems, and ensure people practices support organizational performance, regulatory compliance, and an engaged, high-performing workforce aligned with the organization’s mission and values.
The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking People leader with a proven track record of guiding organizations through growth, transformation, and change. This individual will excel at defining and communicating both long-term strategic vision and near-term operational priorities, while remaining actively engaged in day-to-day People leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the organization’s People strategy, aligning workforce planning, talent initiatives, and culture priorities with strategic and operational goals
- Lead People operations, systems, analytics, and process improvement efforts to enhance service delivery, decision-making, and the overall employee experience
- Serve as a strategic partner and advisor to executive leadership on organizational design, change management, succession planning, employee engagement, and leadership effectiveness
- Lead employee relations efforts, including coaching leaders, managing investigations, resolving workplace issues, and fostering a respectful, inclusive work environment
- Oversee compensation, benefits, recognition, and total rewards programs to ensure competitiveness, internal equity, and alignment with organizational objectives
- Introduce innovative ideas, practical solutions, and best practices informed by experience in similarly sized organizations
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive human resources or people leadership experience, including senior-level responsibility for multiple People functions
- Strong technical skills, experience, and aptitude, including implementation and system and process optimization experience
- Demonstrated experience leading People strategy, talent management, employee relations, organizational development, and compliance initiatives across a complex organization
- Experience advising executive leaders on workforce strategy, change management, succession planning, and culture development
- Strong background in healthcare, behavioral health, nonprofit, or other mission-driven environments highly preferred
- Proven success leading teams, managing competing priorities, and using data to drive decisions and continuous improvement
Compensation is based on candidate experience, qualifications, and certifications and licenses. Annual ranges listed are based on a full-time, 40 hours per week position.
