About the Client
A major Brazilian financial institution specializing in investment banking, wealth management, and corporate lending. The customer develops secure digital banking platforms and financial solutions to serve a diverse global client base.
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java
- Build and support event-driven architectures leveraging technologies such as Kafka, SQS, and RabbitMQ
- Develop and execute unit, integration, and performance tests
- Design and optimize solutions utilizing relational databases including MySQL and PostgreSQL
- Deploy and support applications in containerized environments using Docker, Kubernetes, and ECS
- Leverage AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, and ECS
- Implement observability practices to improve reliability and performance
- Design highly available and scalable systems utilizing concepts such as auto-scaling, load balancing, clustering, and disaster recovery
- Participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and maintainable solutions
- Contribute to the team's technical evolution and continuous improvement initiatives
What You Bring
- Strong proficiency in Java for backend development
- Hands-on experience with unit, integration, and performance testing
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures using Kafka, SQS, or RabbitMQ
- Knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL
- Experience with containerized environments including Docker, Kubernetes, and ECS
- Experience with AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, and ECS
- Understanding of observability practices and monitoring strategies
- Solid understanding of scalability concepts including auto-scaling, load balancing, clustering, and disaster recovery
- Familiarity with software engineering principles such as SOLID, Clean Code, DRY, KISS, and YAGNI
- Commitment to code quality and maintainability
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Clear communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Strong collaboration and teamwork across cross-functional teams
- Critical thinking and effective decision-making abilities
- Proactive mindset with the ability to take ownership and initiative
- Adaptability and eagerness to learn new technologies

Nice to have
- Experience with other cloud providers such as Azure or GCP
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools including Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
- Knowledge of additional programming languages such as Python, Kotlin, or Golang
- Background in financial services, including banking, fintech, card companies, or other financial institutions
- Experience working in hybrid environments
- Passion for learning and actively contributing to the team's technical evolution
