Join a collaborative investment team where you’ll support fund manager research and due diligence across a diverse range of products, helping ensure strong governance and client outcomes. You’ll contribute to fund reviews, analyze performance and risk metrics, and monitor market trends to provide actionable insights. This role offers exposure to internal and external stakeholders while building expertise in investment tools like Bloomberg and Morningstar. You’ll also have the opportunity to enhance processes through data, automation, and emerging technologies such as AI and Python.

You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement, and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.
What you’ll do:
Conduct ongoing investment monitoring and due diligence on external fund managers and their funds to gain a complete understanding of the key drivers of performance and risk
Analyze fund manager questionnaires, performance data, and portfolio characteristics to assess alignment with investment strategy and risk expectations
Support fund reviews, and product initiatives by providing industry insights and research
Build and maintain tools, databases, and processes to enhance fund research, tracking, and reporting capabilities
Monitor capital markets, industry trends, and regulatory developments to provide context on fund performance and emerging risks
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners (fund managers, administrators, and vendors) to support investment due diligence and operations
Contribute to research initiatives including competitive analysis, contract reviews, and market intelligence gathering
Utilize platforms such as Bloomberg and Morningstar to support analysis and decision-making
Identify and implement process improvements, including leveraging Excel, AI, and programming (e.g., Python)
What you’ll bring:
Undergraduate or Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Math, or a related field
2-3 years experience working in an asset management environment with a sound knowledge of the buy-side industry
Working knowledge of portfolio management techniques including portfolio construction, attribution analysis, security analysis, and risk management.
Progress toward a professional designation such as CFA, CIM or CIPM.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess investment performance and manager strategies
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely present insights
Self-motivated and able to work both independently and within a team environment
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Advanced proficiency in Python, SQL and API development
Experienced using Bloomberg and Morningstar Direct
Curiosity and a proactive approach to learning and improving processes
