The Manager, Supplier & Product Compliance is responsible for leading supplier and product compliance activities across the vendor base and product lifecycle. This role helps ensure suppliers, products, and related processes comply with applicable regulatory requirements, company standards, and quality expectations. The Manager will partner closely with cross-functional teams to support supplier governance, product compliance, audit readiness, issue resolution, documentation standards, and continuous improvement. This role requires strong leadership, sound judgment, and the ability to translate compliance risks into clear actions and recommendations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day supplier and product compliance activities, including prioritization, communication, issue resolution, and follow-through.
  • Provide clear updates and recommendations to leadership regarding compliance risks, vendor performance trends, audit findings, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Support effective escalation and decision-making by identifying risks, clarifying options, and coordinating with appropriate business partners.
  • Develop team capability through coaching, delegation, documentation standards, and accountability for timely execution.

Supplier Compliance & Governance

  • Manage supplier compliance activities, including supplier onboarding support, Vendor Buying Agreements, responsible sourcing requirements, audits, certifications, documentation, and ongoing performance monitoring.
  • Ensure supplier adherence to applicable regulatory requirements and Signet policies, standards, and compliance expectations.
  • Collaborate with Sourcing, Finance, Legal, QC, and other business partners to support supplier standards, controls, governance processes, and escalation paths.
  • Support vendor accountability through issue resolution, corrective performance action plans, and continuous improvement activities.

Product Compliance & Quality

  • Oversee product compliance including product safety, labeling, regulatory requirements, and company standards.
  • Partner with Quality Control and Sourcing teams to support quality guidelines, training, documentation, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Monitor product testing results, quality trends, documentation gaps, emerging risks, and process changes to help mitigate compliance issues.
  • Ensure product documentation, certifications, and compliance records are complete, current, and audit-ready.

Team Leadership

  • Set clear priorities, goals, performance expectations, development plans, and ownership responsibilities in partnership with the Director.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across supplier and product compliance activities.
  • Provide coaching, prioritization guidance, and decision support to help the team manage recurring compliance work, competing deadlines, and emerging business needs.

Vendor & VBA Management

  • Oversee Vendor Buying Agreements, appendices, and related documentation to support supplier accountability, operational execution, and compliance with company standards.
  • Drive consistency in vendor communication, issue resolution, and follow-through on compliance requirements.
  • Partner with global and cross-functional teams to align and optimize policies, procedures, and compliance expectations.

Risk Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify compliance risks across suppliers and products and develop practical mitigation strategies to reduce exposure.
  • Analyze trends in audits, quality failures, and vendor performance to identify root causes and drive systemic improvements.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives that strengthen controls, improve documentation, increase efficiency, and maintain compliance rigor.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Merchandising, Sourcing, and Quality Control teams to embed compliance into key business processes.
  • Support new product launches, vendor onboarding, and SKU expansion by providing timely compliance guidance and risk assessment.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for compliance-related escalations and cross-functional coordination.
  • Prepare clear leadership updates, issue summaries, and recommendations related to compliance risks, audit matters, vendor escalations, and process changes.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of experience in sourcing, merchandising, compliance, quality control, vendor management, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of compliance processes, supplier governance, documentation requirements, and quality standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead work, coach others, manage priorities, and drive accountability across multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to partner effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate risks, decisions, and recommendations clearly.
  • This role is based in Akron, Ohio and requires regular onsite presence.
  • Experience with audits, standard operating procedures, vendor governance routines, corrective action plans, or control-based processes, preferred.
  • Experience in the jewelry, retail, consumer goods, manufacturing, or regulated product industry, preferred.
  • Experience preparing leadership updates, issue summaries, process documentation, or compliance reporting. preferred.
