Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose

  • Participation in the design of new products and adaptation of existing products in international design groups. 
  • Close collaboration with development engineers and product engineers to implement new products into the production process. 
  • Participation in the design of machinery and equipment supporting the production process. 
  • Implementation of modern solutions (Capabilities - e.g.: Augmented Reality) supporting design processes and communication with external and internal clients. 
  • Realization and presentation of your own ideas. 
  • Development of prototypes. 
  • Supporting other departments in project collaboration. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Higher education, preferred education fields: Mechanics and Machine Construction, Mechatronics, or related. 
  • Knowledge of one of the leading 3D CAD environments (PTC CREO Parametric, Solid Works, Inventor or similar). 
  • Understanding of technical documentation principles. 
  • Knowledge of mechanics, strength of materials and FEM analysis. 
  • Knowledge related to machine design. 
  • Knowledge of precision mechanics will be an additional asset. 
  • Knowledge of GD&T methodology will be an additional asset. 
  • Knowledge of sheet metal forming and plastic injection processes. 
  • Knowledge of 3D printing processes. 
  • Analytical skills. 
  • Proficiency in English for fluent communication both spoken and written. 
  • Communicativeness, diligence, commitment, and high personal culture. 
  • 3 years of experience in a position with a similar scope of responsibilities
