About the Role

We are currently seeking Casual Meter Exchangers throughout Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Hunter Valley to join our team - Keep fit and get paid.

As a Meter Exchanger, you will be responsible to drive an allocated route each day and complete the exchange of water meters, reading and recording all details in an electronic hand-held device.

This role will suit someone with a mechanical aptitude, a great attitude and work ethic that enjoys working outdoors. Prior meter exchange experience is not required, however experience in a similar physically demanding role is ideal.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Ensure that correct procedure is followed
    • Ensure that where possible owners/occupies of properties are notified prior to replacing any meter
    • Ensure that meters are replaced safely using occupational health and safety procedures
    • Ensure that a replaced meter is recorded and the owner / occupier has been notified that their meter has been replaced
    • Understand and ensure efficiency targets are met
    • Publicly represent Service Stream and our clients in a professional manner
    • Regularly communicate with office support team
    • Upload and download route information to and from hand-held device
    • Report to office as required


    What you need

    • Sound mechanical aptitude
    • Motivated & reliable with great attitude
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Available to work Mon-Fri, 30-38 hours per week
    • Australian Driver's Licence
    • OHS construction industry white card (or willing to obtain)
    • Reliable motor vehicle and mobile phone
    • Flexible and comfortable with daily travel of up to, or more than 45 minutes each way
