Job Summary
OWT Global is seeking a Counter-small Unmanned Aircraft System (C-sUAS) Instructor / Technical Writer for Germany[SK1] support of Department of Defense (DoD) requirements on a multi-faceted System of Systems (SoS) platform. This position is contingent upon the candidate meeting all pre-employment requirements and maintaining eligibility for a SECRET security clearance.
Job Requirements
The selected C-sUAS Instructor / Technical Writer will provide direct support to a DoD customer in an OCONUS environment. Primary responsibilities include:
- Course Development & Delivery: Create, manage, and deliver operator and pre-deployment training courses on C-sUAS systems
- Curriculum Alignment: Ensure all training adheres to U.S. Air Force AETC and U.S. Army TRADOC guidelines and directives
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Coordinate with executives, program managers, engineering, and R&D personnel to align training objectives with program goals
- Instructional Excellence: Provide the highest quality learning experience through structured training, technical documentation, and hands-on instruction with both a fixed site and a rapidly deployable C-sUAS SoS platform
Required Qualifications:
- Active Secret security clearance
- Current USA passport or the ability to obtain one
- Hold or obtain CompTIA Security+ Certification upon an offer of employment
- Hold or attain a FAA Class II Flight Physical from an FAA certified AME
- Hold or attain a FAA Part 107/European Union EASA Drone License/Remote Pilot Certificate
- Perform independently with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Impeccable verbal and written communications skills with the ability to provide presentations to all manners of audiences
- Immaculate organizational and time management abilities
- Experience with all MS Office 365 and Adobe Acrobat applications and functions
- Customer service oriented
- Ability to lift a minimum of 100lbs.
- Be willing to accept a minimum twelve-month operational employment supporting OCONUS locations throughout Europe
Education Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of recent specialized experience,
- OR; − An associate’s degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience,
- OR; − A major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience. The definition of a major certification is considered equal to an associate’s degree. In determining if a particular certification may be considered major, consider whether or not the certification
- Was difficult to obtain
- Is widely accepted
- Was independently administered (CompTIA CASP+/SecurityX as an example)
- OR; − 11 years of recent specialized experience
Highly Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in Counter-UAS operations or related fields such as Electronic Warfare, Cyber Operations or RADAR and Electronics Maintenance
- Proficiency with system-of-systems architectures, including integration and operational application
- Strong foundation in radio frequency (RF) theory and operations
- Strong operational knowledge of Tactical Assault Kit software (WinTAK and ATAK) and associated plugins
- Basic Windows Server and Linux command-line skills for system configuration and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with generators, uninterrupted power supplies and power distribution/conditioning systems
- Ability to identify and communicate system discrepancies to engineering/design teams, while also training DoD personnel on system operations
- Proven instructional experience as a corporate trainer, military training instructor, certified instructor, analyst, or administrator. (Certification credentials must be submitted with application if used as proof of experience.)
- Knowledge of instructional methodologies and frameworks, such as the ADDIE model or Bloom’s Taxonomy
- Flexibility to adapt training content and delivery methods to evolving software capabilities and system updates
- Experience creating digital training content, including scripting and video production
- Familiarity with workflow and project management tools, including SmartSheets and Microsoft Project
- Ability to translate technical documentation into practical, operational system employment for the benefit of understanding and comprehension by all students
- Demonstrated ability to integrate DTED datasets into mapping programs designed for multi-layer mapping, 3D terrain visualization, and spatial data analysis supporting operational planning/analysis
Preferred Technical Skills and Education:
- Design and deliver C-sUAS training materials, measure course effectiveness, and manage knowledge resources for classroom-based instruction
- Oversee training programs to ensure objectives are achieved and customer return on investment is demonstrated
- Develop and track metrics to evaluate training effectiveness; provide progress reports to OWT program managers
- Coordinate with customers and prime contractors to plan course delivery, enrollment, and scheduling in line with operational demand
- Create training programs that integrate current and emerging C-sUAS software and hardware requirements
- Develop and maintain documentation aligned with current software versions and system updates
- Produce lesson plans, syllabi, and schedules for multiple course offerings
- Mentor and train new employees to function independently as Field Service Representatives/Subject Matter Experts (FSRs/SMEs)
- Maintain detailed training records including student rosters and course completions
- Conduct After Action Reviews (AARs), analyze student feedback, and implement improvements to enhance training quality and alignment with program priorities
