Billing Specialist
Job Description
Part of the Company’s financial commercial operations team for activity associated with vessels and US preference cargo operated in the Ro/Ro business unit, the Billing Specialist is responsible for the billing process for key US Government client requiring high levels to detail and compliance with contract stipulations for government activity as it relates to both the USC & Multi-model contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for the billing process for the US Government customer. This includes the preparation, invoicing, and analysis of billing files for each voyage.
Work as the liaison between the cargo groups and SDDC to assist in resolving billing issues
Interaction with business unit and senior finance staff on program/contract related issues, including new business, to ensure all requirements are in place before billing
Invoicing activities for other new business activities
Supports company commitment to safety and other selected certifications
Performs other position related duties as specified by management
Position Specifications:
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in accounting required
2-4 years’ experience preferred
Technical Skills and Competencies Required
Demonstrated advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access
Strong analytical skills
Ability to work independently, effectively prioritize responsibilities, and maintain focus on established objectives
Strong written and oral communication skills

Pay Range:
$55,000 - $60,000*
*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
