Full-Time – Third Shift

The Clinical Coordinator functions as a clinical pathway, population-based clinician responsible for promoting patient safety and high-quality patient care through clinical leadership, education, consultation and modeling. The clinical coordinator incorporates evidence-based practice, theory, and research into various patient care settings according to patient needs by collaborating with multi-professional groups; facilitating the development of hospital and department policies, nursing procedures, regulatory standards and guidelines; and conducting research. The role also includes functioning as a community resource on topics within scope of practice and providing nursing orientation, education, and ongoing competency verification. The clinical coordinator is a role model for caring that honors the patient’s mind, body, and spirit
Description:
Develops, coordinates, and evaluates orientation, competency, continuing education, and professional development programs for nursing and clinical staff.
Assesses educational needs and facilitates learning activities using evidence-based practices, clinical data, and organizational goals.
Maintains clinical expertise and serves as a resource for patient care, complex clinical situations, and specialty practice standards.
Collaborates with nursing leadership, providers, and interdisciplinary teams to improve clinical practice, patient outcomes, and quality initiatives.
Serves as a consultant, mentor, and role model while promoting professional growth and staff competency.
Monitors compliance with quality, regulatory, accreditation, and patient safety standards.
Supports customer service excellence and a positive healing environment through effective communication and relationship building.
Adheres to organizational policies, infection prevention practices, emergency preparedness requirements, and safety programs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Associate Degree in Nursing required with a current Kentucky RN license.
Three years of clinical nursing experience required; leadership and advanced clinical experience preferred.
Required certifications/training include BLS, ACLS, Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia, NIH Stroke Certification, 12 Lead Training, Glucometer Training, Aegis/DY, and Nurse Wound Care within established departmental timeframes.
